The Commonwealth Games is coming to Birmingham!
We are very excited to welcome the XXII Commonwealth Games to Birmingham this summer for what is sure to be a festival of sports, atmosphere and colour. Already early signs of the upcoming sporting bonanza are beginning to emerge around the city, as we build-up to the event which runs from 28th July to 8th August.
The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will demonstrate the very best of Global Britain to the world, showcasing the region’s strengths of: being connected and accessible; youth and inclusivity; and a focus on regeneration and rejuvenation. Birmingham is perfectly positioned to attract people to the Games and to ensure that the benefits of hosting extend from the city and region, to the UK and the Commonwealth.
As the national teams arrive in Birmingham, we are looking forward to welcoming them and showing what Brum has to offer. The Games provides a focal point for the city to reassess how it is viewed by visitors and the World beyond the West Midlands.
